The lighting and mood felt appropriate the other night to finally photograph this building I've walked by many times before. It is lonely, like so many of us right now - surrounded by others, recognized, but intentionally kept at a distance. It is a building that shouldn't even be there in the first place - the "Notice of Pending Demolition" sign is from late 2017. It has become an afterthought, so obvious and ingrained in the every day that very few likely notice it anymore.
Some day it will be torn down and replaced, but that day feels like a long ways off right now. In the meantime, it serves as a subtle reminder that beauty still exists, even for something awaiting its eventual destruction.
